At Deal & Dover Scouts, we believe that young people should help shape their own adventure. #YouShape is all about giving young people the opportunity to share their ideas, influence decisions, and take the lead in planning and delivering activities. It puts young people at the centre of everything we do and helps them develop valuable skills for life, including leadership, teamwork, communication, confidence and decision-making.
The Scouts #YouShape Award recognises the important role young people play in shaping their Scouting experience. Through the award, young people set their own goals, contribute ideas, plan activities, lead others and represent their section, group or community. Unlike any other Scout award, young people decide for themselves when they have achieved the requirements, encouraging reflection, ownership and personal growth.
